Alumni Spotlight is an electronic newsletter produced by the Alfred University Office of Marketing and Communications and published periodically throughout the year. It aims to shine a spotlight on news and accomplishments of our amazing alumni. Alumni news is included in the Class Notes section of the Alfred alumni magazine, which is published twice a year. Twenty-five Alfred University students and a group of faculty and staff traveled to Washington, D.C., last week for a three-day event which allowed students to engage with alumni who have enjoyed successful careers in the nation’s capital.

President Joe Biden made a visit March 29 to Wolfspeed, a Durham, NC, semiconductor manufacturer co-founded by Alfred University alumnus John Edmond ’83. Biden’s visit served to kick off his “Investment in America” tour, in which the president discussed the importance of reviving American manufacturing.
